A journey.
I have just experienced the perfect summer weekend. A weekend at these little cottages by the Erie Canal. There was electricity but no running water. For restroom breaks there was a small outhouse. It smelled horrid but the inside had cut up wallpaper pictures of outhouses. Despite the wretched smell it was endearing. I spent my time running and jumping, fishing and canoing, playing and laughing. What makes this so unique is that I am neither outdoorsy nor active. I usually prefer sitting in my room watching movies or reading. But this weekend was magical. I did very little sitting. I only stopped when sleeping. Which I did very little of. But my energy level was higher than is has been in years. YEARS!!! Since I have run and played. But run and play I did this weekend. I am now back home with aches and pains, cuts and bug bites, and a complete feeling of contentment. I feel such satisfaction from having enjoyed this weekend to its fullest. My recommendation to all is to run, jump, play, and laugh. And if you see a tree that looks worthy-- climb it. Climb as high as you can and don't fear a fall.

I think I should post a picture. I feel that my tea party is incomplete without something pretty to look at. So good people I offer you this: a Japanese Garden. I feel it would be a lovely place to gather with friends and sip tea on blanket on the leaf-strewn ground. Or even by oneself with a good book. As you like it.
There is something beautiful to me about "inappropriate" songs being sung in full chorus. For instance the song I Touch Myself. It's a wonderful song in most forms but something about it being song by 60 Belgian women makes it all the better. Harmonies, piano accompaniment. It's glorious. The group of which I speak is Scala & Kolacny Brothers. They also sing the song Creep by Radiohead. You can find more of their music on Amazon.com.

I love when things that are not considered beautiful or are dirty or "wrong" are turned into something beautiful. I'm a sucker for the juxtaposition posed by modern music sung in a choral format. It's something completely opposite brought together. The same idea is in the song Let's Get Fucked Up, the artist of which eludes me. It places the subject of drinking in the forground with an orchestra in the background. Metallica has done this as well combining their song Enter Sandman with full orchestral accompanyment. The same band has also covered the Imperial March (from Star Wars, for those who don't know) in a reverse process; taking music performed by classical instruments and playing it with the intruments of a rock band. I believe there is also a band Apocolyptica who covers rock/metal music with cellos. This cross-genre music is one of my favorite things ever!

Well, I've covered music for the moment. Now I'd like to talk about a movie. The Darjeeling Limited. It's a film directed by Wes Anderson. It's filled with comedy but what hit the most was that it told a story with a lot of meaning behind it. Or at least I found meaning behind it. I don't want to give too much away but the way the brothers in the film interact is very real to me and I find I understand their struggles to reconnect and to find something real in their lives. I highly recommend this movie. I can't say as I'd watch it at like a party or anything but for one's own amusement.

Go forth into the world and do whatever it is you do. Bonne chance!!

This article was brought to my attention via Fire Arrow, a friend and fellow blogger. I don't really like to offend people with political views.... unless I think you're an idiot and an asshole. Well to those Obama haters out there, I must say this. You've lost. We won. Now you can bitch and moan about it, or you can work with it. Republicans as a whole (sorry to generalize, but I'm going to anyway) are sore losers. For eight years, we've suffered through an idiot in office, forcing us into a horrible war and economic deterioration. Now it's our turn to take control and fix the mess he left behind. Barak Obama comes with fresh ideas. He's not just another old white guy. I believe he brings intelligence, ingenuity, and a positive spirit with him. Change has come. Go with the flow or get the hell out of the way.

Another touchy subject is religion. However religion and politics happen to be my two biggest issues with society at large. You people drive me crazy with your close minds and your lack of tolerance. If someone wants to believe in say, a flying spaghetti monster, that's their right. God, if you believe in God, loves them anyway. And aren't you people supposed to be as much like Jesus as possible????And if a man wants to marry another man, or a woman marry another woman, that's their business. Worry about your own marriage. I'm sure your wife hates you and you're husband is probably cheating.

I'll stop ranting now. But I really hate people somedays. And this seems to be one of them.
A lack of interweb connection at my home is rather a frustrating thing. I'm forced to decsend from my mountain top home into the lowly city with the peasants. I walk the streets among them although none of them know my true greatness. This reminds me of a song called "The Great Destroyer." It is by one of my personal favorite bands: Nine Inch Nails. "I hope they cannot see, the limitless potential living inside of me." It's a wonderful song, with raw power in it. The very idea that one is the GREAT DESTROYER, is just a powerful notion. Here is a link to the song on YouTube.

I'm sure there are many more things I could speak with you all about, however I wish to catch up on my webcomic reading. However, I'll come back later if time permits. I will leave you with this: Why don't fish fly?

Just a note:

The tea cup which serves as the profile picture, is a Queen Victoria tea cup. As such I thought it fitting as a temporary image.

Another note: I will not be talking like this all the time. Just so you don't presume this to be a self righteous blog full of arrogance and snobbery. There is some of both arrogance and snobbery. After all it is a blog.... which is an outlet for me to talk; about me or whatever I want to talk about. I also entitled it The Queen's Tea Party, in which I am the Queen. However I don't intend to be a total bitch about it.

Also: Beware of cursing. As it may happen on occasion. Such as the above.

In the Blogosphere

Trebuchet. Interesting a font based on an old weapon. I approve of this.

Well now. Here I am. Writing in a blog. I've caved to peer pressure. I have not the slightest idea what I would speak to you all about. Perhaps I shall just begin with this:

"Twinkle, twinkle little bat.
How I wonder what you're at.
Up, above the world you fly,
Like a tea tray in the sky."
-Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Now I charge you all with this task. Learn this little poem/song in American Sign Language (ASL). It will serve you well, as it is a secret passcode into a VERY exclusive club.
